Efficient Energy Production
Although renewable energy is desirable as the basis for energy production it is unavoidable that the global energy supply will still rely on fossil fuels in the foreseeable future - thus making efficient use of these fuel sources vital in order to combat climate change.
The challenge facing the energy sector is to develop technologies that will allow us to use fossil fuels and other fuel sources as efficiently as possible and reduce CO2 emissions. Improving fuel utilization rates and developing ways to combine fossil fuels with renewable energy sources is a step towards reducing the impact of fossil fuels on the environment.
Today, Danish power plants, and combined heat and power plants, are among the most efficient globally – promising fuel utilization rates of up to 94%.
