Large Scale solar heating in Marstal
Marstal District Heating, a traditional consumer-owned district heating company with approx. 1500 consumers.
The company has designed and built a solar heating plant consisting of more than 18,000 m2 of solar panels as a supplement to the traditional heat production. It is the largest solar heating plant in the world so far, covering up to 32% of the company’s annual heat production.
Technical Specifications
At the latest extension, development of solar panel types and heat storage were brought into focus, and the extension included a new 10,000 m3 pit heat storage.
Ramboll has provided consultancy services for system design, procurement and implementation.
